Another highlight of the year will be the Asia Rugby Men\u2019s Championship (ARMC) which is a qualification pathway tournament for the Rugby World Cup 2023 in France, with Japan already securing a spot after reaching the Quarterfinals in the 2019 Rugby World Cup.

The winner of the 2021 ARMC will play Oceania 2 in a one-off game which will be hosted by the team with the highest ranking, with the winner securing a direct spot in the RWC 2023, and the loser going to the final qualification tournament.

Singapore’s Asia Rugby Women’s Championship Division I campaign has seen them fall five places in the

World Rugby Women\u2019s Rankings.

Following on from last Wednesday\u2019s 51-7 defeat to eventual champions China, over the weekend Singapore became India\u2019s first scalp at test level, losing 21-19.

Those results combined have cost Singapore 2.42 rating points and they have now dropped to 38th place with Thailand, Uzbekistan, Tonga, Cayman Islands and Zimbabwe the sides to benefit.

India’s initial defeat to the lower ranked Philippines means they only end the week with an overall gain of just under a third of a rating point and so remain in 47th place.

China\u2019s triumphant return to test rugby after an eight-year absence boosted their rating by 0.86 of a point but that was not enough for them to catch Belgium, the side immediately above them in the rankings, and they remain in 24th\u00a0place.

\n", "content_text": "Singapore’s Asia Rugby Women’s Championship Division I campaign has seen them fall five places in the\nWorld Rugby Women\u2019s Rankings.\nFollowing on from last Wednesday\u2019s 51-7 defeat to eventual champions China, over the weekend Singapore became India\u2019s first scalp at test level, losing 21-19.\nThose results combined have cost Singapore 2.42 rating points and they have now dropped to 38th place with Thailand, Uzbekistan, Tonga, Cayman Islands and Zimbabwe the sides to benefit.\n\nIndia’s initial defeat to the lower ranked Philippines means they only end the week with an overall gain of just under a third of a rating point and so remain in 47th place.\nChina\u2019s triumphant return to test rugby after an eight-year absence boosted their rating by 0.86 of a point but that was not enough for them to catch Belgium, the side immediately above them in the rankings, and they remain in 24th\u00a0place.\n\n \nBeaten finalists, the Philippines, move off the bottom of the rankings thanks to the win against India at the expense of Czechia.\nAway from Asia, Kenya defeated Uganda 42-13 in the Elgon Cup to claim 0.35 of a point.
