Asia Rugby received applications from the following 32 countries:
Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Chinese Taipei, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Iraq, Japan, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Syria, Thailand, UAE, Uzbekistan and Vietnam. A total of 84 applications were received.
To select the final Asia Rugby Unstoppable Ambassador, Asia Rugby requested the help of an elite external panel consisting of
- Gaelle Olivier (Asia Pacific CEO of Societe Generale),
- Rachael Burford (England XVs & 7s Player ), and
- Alana Thomas (Head Coach of Melbourne Rebels Rugby Club).
Initially, the plan was to select the top 15 but, due to a 3-way tie, additional ambassadors were selected.
