Korea are currently favorites having recorded two victories and remain the only side unbeaten. In the opening round of fixtures Daeyeon Kim, Euitae Kim and Gisu Shin all crossed the whitewash as they beat hosts Chinese Taipei 22-7.

Chinese Taipei bounced back from that defeat to shock Hong Kong on 11 December with a famous 28-15 victory. Jin Yu Lin was the star of the show scoring two tries and converting all four of Taipei’s tries.

Singapore are out of the running having suffered two defeats, first a 47-20 defeat to Hong Kong with James Rivers and Toby Jurecka scoring two tries apiece before.

They were also edged out by the unbeaten Korea 32-28 with Euitae Kim continuing his fine form in the tournament with two of Korea’s four tries.

The event draws to a close on Saturday at the National Stadium in Kaohsiung with all matches being streamed live on Asia Rugby’s Facebook page
